Hook, Knot, & Stitch Multiple Strand Necklaces
By Carol Cypher
Suitable for all levels of Beaders

Beaded with a crochet hook, fine beading awl, and beading needles, these simple and complex strands and chains can be worn alone or in multiples. These three styles are a fabulous start: Magnetic closure beaded end-caps, beaded toggle closure, and single strands worn together in a beaded bead focal element. Students will learn how to make various necklaces using bead crochet, strategically knotted beads on decorative threads, and clever use of SilverSilk and WireLace, and how to incorporate new bead shapes and finish them with these three styles. Familiarity with at least peyote stitch or right-angle weave helpful.

Versatile and technique rich, this class will enable students to combine all these demonstrated techniques with their own creativity to design numerous and unique wearable art.

Projects will not be completed in class, but students will be well-prepared from written instructions and demos to complete at home.
