Sheri's Earrings

These swinging earrings are a great accessory for your wardrobe. Casual or dressy, they work both ways. Pearls or gems enhanced by crystal, they sparkle and catch attention. An interesting thread path creates the rounded shape. Length can be altered, and bugle beads or seed beads can be used as the arms of the earrings. The style offers a wide variety of interpretations, and you'll want to make many pairs.

Introduction to Kumihimo

Modernize the ancient art of Japanese braiding and create contemporary jewelry. We'll be using a round foam disk with cords and beads to make this bracelet. This project works up very quickly, so you will be leaving class with a finished bracelet. Kumihimo takes on a variety of different looks, depending on the beads you choose. Crystals and pearls combined with seed beads create a dressy look; seed beads with flowers and daggers give you a casual, funky bracelet. Let your imagination and creativity run wild; you'll be pleased with the results. We will also discuss ratios, beads, cords, etc. to assist you in additional Kumihimo projects. This class is a pre-requisite for the intermediate Kumihimo classes which will be offered.

Homework prior to class, so sign up early.

Diva's Delight Pendant

Begin by encasing a Lunasoft cabochon in a bed of delicas, then embellish with crystals, seed beads and Superduos. Use your creativity to make a unique pendant; suspend from a chain, a beaded spiral, or any rope of your choice. Taught by permission of designer.

Bezeling a Rivoli with SuperDuos

Encase a sparkling rivoli in a bezel of SuperDuo and seed beads. Use peyote stitch to surround the sparkling crystal and embellish with picots and crystals. Instructions will be provided for various sizes of rivolis. Previous beadweaving experience essential.

Wire Wrapped Rings

Wire and Gemstone Bracelet

The Art of Bead Crochet

Learn the fundamentals of bead crochet in this workshop. Students will leave class with the hands-on knowledge to begin crocheting bead ropes. With the logical and progressive steps taught in this class you will progress past the initial learning curve and be able to move on to crochet beautiful beaded ropes. Bead caps will finish off your focal necklace.

A great technique to learn, not only because of its beauty and versatility, but because of its portability (all beads are strung ahead of time, so no beads all over the airplane aisle or car floor!) Definitely the class to get you started.

Written instructions and diagrams will be distributed for reference, including some tips and tricks of the trade.

ALL CHOKED UP!

The ancient but popular technique of netting can be found in almost all cultures on earth. The open areas between the beads result in a soft and lacy look. To create this collar we will learn vertical netting, resulting in points at the end of each row. Using seed beads and Czech fire-polished beads result in a lovely Cleopatra-style collar, classic enough for daytime wear and dressy enough for evening. Crystals or pearls can be substituted for a totally different look. Variations of the pattern will be discussed for your future necklaces, and written instructions will be distributed.

Thalia Bracelet

This bracelet makes an elegant statement. The base is composed of 6mm rounds and 4mm firepolish beads. The addition of seed beads forms a dome shape, which is then embellished with 2mm rounds and rows of seed beads. Previous experience with beadweaving is a prerequisite. Wire Works

Explore the many ways to manipulate wire to customize your jewelry. Create your own findings- S-hooks, fancy headpins, clasps, spirals and coiled beads - as we bend and twist, texture and harden, spiral and coil.

Wire Crochet

This technique lends itself to numerous variations once you have the foundations from this class.

Hook, Knot, & Stitch Multiple Strand Necklaces

Suitable for all levels of Beaders


Beaded with a crochet hook, fine beading awl, and beading needles, these simple and complex strands and chains can be worn alone or in multiples. These three styles are a fabulous start: Magnetic closure beaded end-caps, beaded toggle closure, and single strands worn together in a beaded bead focal element. Students will learn how to make various necklaces using bead crochet, strategically knotted beads on decorative threads, and clever use of SilverSilk and WireLace, and how to incorporate new bead shapes and finish them with these three styles. Familiarity with at least peyote stitch or right-angle weave helpful.

Versatile and technique rich, this class will enable students to combine all these demonstrated techniques with their own creativity to design numerous and unique wearable art.

Projects will not be completed in class, but students will be well-prepared from written instructions and demos to complete at home.
