Bezeling a Rivoli with SuperDuos

Encase a sparkling rivoli in a bezel of SuperDuo and seed beads. Use peyote stitch to surround the sparkling crystal and embellish with picots and crystals. Instructions will be provided for various sizes of rivolis. Previous beadweaving experience essential.

Bobble Necklace and Earrings

Weave fire-polished beads, crystals or pearls among a meandering strand of seed beads to create this necklace and earring set. This versatile pattern works up quickly, and you'll definitely want more than one set! Based on a variation of a Deborah Roberti pattern, this set is stitched in a right angle weave variation.

Leather X & O Wrap Bracelet

Kumihimo Bracelet

Modernize the ancient art of Japanese braiding and create contemporary jewelry. We'll be using a round foam disk with cords and beads to make this bracelet. This project works up very quickly, so you will be leaving class with a finished bracelet. Kumihimo takes on a variety of different looks, depending on the beads you choose. Crystals and pearls combined with seed beads create a dressy look; seed beads with flowers and daggers give you a casual, funky bracelet. Let your imagination and creativity run wild; you'll be pleased with the results. We will also discuss ratios, beads, cords, etc. to assist you in additional Kumihimo projects. This class is a pre-requisite for the intermediate Kumihimo classes which will be offered.

Homework prior to class, so sign up early.

Herringbone Squared

A great class for beginners to learn the versatile tubular herringbone pattern. This herringbone rope incorporates the new 4 hole bead-the QuadraTile, Swarovski bicones and Fire Polish beads to add that extra touch of sparkle. It can be made into a necklace or into a bracelet or several bracelets to be worn together.

ALL CHOKED UP!

The ancient but popular technique of netting can be found in almost all cultures on earth. The open areas between the beads result in a soft and lacy look. To create this collar we will learn vertical netting, resulting in points at the end of each row. Using seed beads and Czech fire-polished beads result in a lovely Cleopatra-style collar, classic enough for daytime wear and dressy enough for evening. Crystals or pearls can be substituted for a totally different look. Variations of the pattern will be discussed for your future necklaces, and written instructions will be distributed.

Let's Knot!

Classic pearl knotting, updated. Using the Easy Knotter designed by Maureen Olivetto, students will learn the techniques associated with this innovative and super-fast method of pearl knotting. Strung on silk bead cord, the coin pearl or gemstone necklace combines with crystals to make a statement all its own. The many samples in the store will inspire you and expand your beading experience.

Double Diamondback Bracelet

Designed by Alice Coelho, this stunning bracelet looks far more complicated than it is. Peyote-stitched squares of 15/0s, Delicas and Swarovski bicones are joined to form this quilted-looking pattern. This one always elicits compliments, whether in monochromatic or contrasting tones. Once you've mastered the pattern, variations in width and color can produce numerous designs. Taught with permission of designer.

Some beadweaving experience is necessary.

Wire Works

Explore the many ways to manipulate wire to customize your jewelry. Create your own findings- S-hooks, fancy headpins, clasps, spirals and coiled beads - as we bend and twist, texture and harden, spiral and coil.

You will also receive a thorough explanation of proper wire gauges and tools and detailed written instructions.

This photo is just one example of what you can accomplish with your wire-worked pieces.

Basic Looming on the Jewel Loom

Learn to loom on the new Jewel Loom Class will walk you through from beginning to end. Demonstration and hands-on practice will enable you to set up your loom, learn the techniques of weaving, and to finish off the ends of your bracelet. Discussion will include the choice of stringing materials, the variety of bead choices, reading of a pattern, and the finishing off of your bracelet. Seed beads in size 8/0 will be used for this project, since their size makes them a perfect choice for a first project. It's amazing what you can accomplish on this small, portable and inexpensive loom.

Tila Picot Necklace

Beautiful Beaded Beads

We'll be making hollow beaded beads from crystal, Czech glass and seed beads. These sparkling gems can be used together in a necklace or paired as earrings, or highlighted alone as a focal point. A variety of beadweaving techniques will be used to form these hollow beads, including right angle weave, peyote and netting. Basic familiarity with beadweaving is recommended. So choose a palette and let's make beads!

Kumihimo Braid with a Twist

Now that you've made the standard 8-cord beaded bracelet, let's learn something new. This technique varies from the standard braiding processes, resulting in a funky, chunky bracelet with different shaped beads.

This is not an introductory class, and students should be able to construct an 8-strand beaded bracelet.

Two-hole triangles nestle among seed beads and fire polish beads to form this delicate flower-like link, reminiscent of origami.
