Fill-the-Gap Kumihimo
By Marianne Olbermann
Advanced Beginner

Now that you've made the standard 8-cord beaded bracelet, let's learn something new - a 7-strand braid, also known as the Fill the Gap braid. This technique varies from the standard braiding processes, resulting in a funky, chunky bracelet with different shaped beads. This technique creates beautiful and unusual bracelets and necklaces, so come learn how to work with your modified disk and beads.

This is not an introductory class, and students should be able to construct an 8-strand beaded bracelet.

Need an introductory class? Call the store to arrange a class.

Kalmbach Books has graciously allowed Beads Mosaic to teach this pattern to our customers in anticipation of their soon-to-be-published beading book.

Spiral Bracelet
By Marianne Olbermann
Beginner Friendly

Everyone loves to spiral! The spiral technique is easy, quick to learn and offers endless possibilities. A spiral of beads encircle and "climb" the core. As you can see from the photo, a spiral can be thin or chunky, striped or solid, round or odd-shaped, casual or dressy. The technique is exactly the same on each one; it is the selection of beads that determines the look. One technique equals a myriad of looks! So think of this class as a multi-level one: in addition to bracelets, you can make necklaces to wear alone or with your favorite pendant.
